การสร้างเครื่องมือวัดของผู้ป่วยโรคเบาหวานที่ไม่ต้องพึ่งอินซูลิน

บทคัดย่อ
The purpose of this study is to construct and evaluate a measuring instrument for quality of life of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. The initial questionnaire was composed of 22 demographic and health behavior questionnaire, and 75 quality of life items. The part of the questionnaire concerning the quality of life items was used to assess 30 type 2 diabetes mellitus cases in endocrine clinic at Ramathibodi Hospital during the period September 1st to October 31st 1999. It had a coefficient reliability equal to 0.900. After the pretest questionnaire items were dropped,only 60 items were used in the trial phase where the study population was 174 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in the endocrine clinic at Ramathibodi Hospital between November 1st 1999 and March 31st 2000. The result showed that Cronbach’s alpha coefficient reliability was equal to 0.8735 and six factors accounted for 58 percent of the variance explained and 31 items were dropped from the questionnaire by factor analysis. The six factors were psychological status, social support, discomfort, physical complaint, self-confidence and life satisfaction. Finally factor scores from six domains were used to examine the relationship of demographic and health behavior factors by multiple regression analysis. It was found that quality of life was significantly correlated with married patients (P = 0.024), who were employ (P = 0.005) and, those who could not afford medical expenses (P = 0.014).
